Durante este segundo trimestre los alumnos de Ed. Primaria y especialmente los de su nivel bilingüe de 1º han realizado una gran variedad de actividades lúdicas, artísticas, escénicas, culturales para trabajar el idioma inglés y para practicar y fijar expresiones y vocabulario de la segunda lengua. Cada día se trabaja el segundo idioma de una forma dinámica y creativa lejos de los patrones antiguos, que facilita a los alumnos el aprendizaje de forma innovadora y despierta el interés por la comunicación en una lengua extranjera. Aquí os mostramos algunos ejemplos de estas dinámicas.
LEARNING ABOUT MEALS – 1st of primary
This is a colourful display of one of the main meals of the day, “lunch”. Using coloured papers, children have outlined the ingredients of their meals, some fish, as a protein, fruits and vegetables. They have cut them out and give them some colour. They have filled their “healthy plates” by pasting their cutouts. They have had a lot of fun, learning about meals and healthy habits, practising their english and developing their artistic skills.
WILD ANIMALS. MONKEYS – 2nd of Primary
We love learning about wild animals. The place they live, the food they eat, what they look like. This project is focused on monkeys. These clever and social animals, known for running and leaping through trees, have been part of our English classes. Children have learned to talk about them in a fun and creative way. This is the outcome!!
SHAMROCKS ON SAINT PATRICK´S DAY 3rd of Primary
Celebrating Saint Patrick at school, on March 17. Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The children saw a class presentation about his life. How he taught the Irish about the doctrine of the Holy Trinity by using a three-leaf-shamrock as an illustration of the “three-in-one” God. And learning that for this reason shamrocks are a central symbol for Saint Patrick´s day. They drew and coloured the popular “shamrocks” and they talked about this day…
LANGUAGES DAY in 5th of Primary: Skills we have practiced: drawing, speaking, writing, listening and reading. They have also played the word game «Pasa palabra». 5th A and B competed and answered questions about Malta. We worked in small groups preparing a poster with a summary of all we have learned about Malta, we showed everything in a poster and also performed role plays about real situations.
ARTS 6th Primary. Students made the landscapes and explained the position on the plane of the different landmarks and also showed the different cromatic versions
